These positions provide armed security services to protect property and persons from sabotage, fire, espionage, theft, vandalism, and other hazards; control entry and exit of all personnel, vehicles and other equipment at entry points to the National Guard Facility or Base; assist and direct visitors; enforce parking regulations; ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations, rules and laws; prepare and maintain records and documents; monitor base alarm systems; and attend training and safety classes.
Special Notes: Must be at least 18 years old; possess a high school diploma, GED or HSED; pass a criminal background check prior to hire and be successful in obtaining a Department of Defense security clearance following appointment; successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen, psychological assessment and will be required to complete a fitness/agility test. Positions located at Wisconsin Air National Guard bases require possession of a valid Wisconsin drivers license upon appointment and must obtain a military driver license following hire.
Qualifications: Working knowledge necessary to observe and respond to security/public safety situations and to document and report details regarding such; ability to reason, analyze information and make sound judgments; ability to read, interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; physical ability to perform the essential job functions; ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions; and knowledge of personal computer operation in the Windows environment.
