Works under the supervision of the Home Care Manager. The Registered Nurse uses professional nursing skills through assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and supervision of individual patient care for patients from infancy to 100+ years of age according to departmental policies and procedures. Accepts responsibility for collaboration with co-workers in the implementation of patient care. The Registered Nurse organizes and provides direct patient care incorporating clinical decision-making and prioritization of activities. Education of the patient and family/significant other and other health care team members is provided by the Registered Nurse. The Registered Nurse is knowledgeable of Home Care Standards of Care and Practices. Participates in daily management of the department. Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: Nursing degree (Diploma of Nursing, ADN, BSN, or MSN) from an accredited school of nursing.
LICENSURE: Current RN license in state of Wisconsin and Illinois, and a valid driver's license. If not dually licensed at the time of hire, the expectation is that licensure in the other state will be obtained within 90 days of hire or as soon as possible when working with that state licensing department.
CERTIFICATION: Current BLS certification required.
EXPERIENCE: 1 year medical/surgical RN experience preferred.
SCHEDULE: Requires flexibility to pick up weekday, weekend & on-call shifts as needed. Requires working at least 2 shifts/mo., at least 1 weekend/quarter, and at least 1 holiday/yr.
